Higher quality = better lighting

HID bulbs are glass bulbs filled with a mixture of gases including Xenon. The bulb is filled with a mixture of gases including Xenon. The color or temperature of the bulb is decided by the combination of these gases. The temperature colors very from a yellowish 3500K to a deep purple at 12000K. These bulbs are ignited by a built in starter in the ballast. The ballast also maintains the correct voltage to keep the bulbs lit. Each ballast puts out near 23000K volts. Since there are no filaments, like traditional bulbs, HID are much more efficient than traditional bulbs. A standard or stock halogen bulb is rated at 55w and the Extreme HID kit is rated at a lower 35w putting less stress on your electrical system. This is also a huge benefit for the motorcycle applications, with there already limited electrical charging system. There are many cheap kits available out there on Ebay but do not be fooled these are just cheap copys of the real deal.

8000K

5000k Is the purest of white and is the closest representation to true sunlight at high noon, and will produce the most light output.

6000K will have a slight tinge of sky blue and is the second highest output temperature. Click the pictures above to supersize.
